Who doesn’t love the idea of having an opportunity presented to you? What about when you create those opportunities yourself?
On September 20, Kleyra and I went to Vancity Business Babes (VCBB) event which took place at L’Atelier Vancouver Coworking. The opportunity to meet different working women was planned by founder of VCBB, Danielle Wiebe.
The event attracted many business women around the city to get together to meet and connect in a fun and warm space. Every person who attended was divided into small groups in order for us to explore and get to know one another better. Everyone talked about starting up a business/organization and the type of business they are running.
Our goal was to essentially walk out with getting something out of it. We do our best to attend events Vancity Business Babes presents because we know something valuable can be taken away from each social occasion that is planned. We choose to be resourceful. Although, Danielle sent us the invitation and were present, it didn’t end there. Kleyra and I made sure to get to know other girls aside from our groups and we shared a bit about one of our ongoing projects to the room. Public speaking is nerve racking, but having a voice helps. That being said, whether it was more knowledge about being an entrepreneur, potential collaborations, or simply coming out with new ideas; we continued to create opportunities for collaborations by showcasing and speaking about our work.
Based on our experiences, women entrepreneurs see the world through different lens and in turn do things differently. Sharing the room with ambitious people is amazing. To say that this event was successful is an understatement.
COLLAB AND CONNECT WITH THOSE WHO INSPIRE YOU.
